Community to have its say on Water for Victoria

East Gippsland Water

The Victorian Government has released a Water for Victoria discussion paper that summarises the key challenges facing the water sector in Victoria and outlines how Victorians can strengthen their water system for decades to come.

The Government is now calling on Victorians to have their say and attend a public consultation session, a community workshop, in Maffra on Monday, 18 April.

East Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Bruce Hammond, said, “I encourage our customers and the local community to join the conversation by attending one of the Government’s Water for Victoria community workshops.

“These workshops seek to provide a broad introduction to the Water for Victoria discussion paper, as well as capture community feedback on key elements of the discussion paper and key local or regional issues. In addition they will provide information on how to make a submission to inform the final water plan.

“Community input is critical and we want to tap into local experiences and knowhow. This is a great opportunity for all of us to have our say.”

The community workshop in Maffra will be held at the Uniting Church in Pearson Street, on Monday 18 April, from 7pm to 9pm.
