A major sewer upgrade for Lakes Entrance

East Gippsland Water

Onsite work has just got underway on a major $1.4 million upgrade to part of the sewerage system in Lakes Entrance.
Contractors operating on East Gippsland Water’s behalf, and managed by engineering consultants MWH, are installing a new 1.1km pipeline in the North Arm area – along Marine Parade, around the Sports & Recreation Reserve, along North Arm Avenue and under Eastern Creek to Dargo Street.
This will increase the capacity of the local sewerage system to cater for future population growth in Lakes Entrance, helping to ensure that the efficiency and reliability of sewerage services are maintained well into the future.
Said East Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Bruce Hammond: “This project will take approximately three months to complete and there will be no interruption to sewerage services.
“All residents in the immediate area have been contacted and there may be minor, localised traffic diversions. Every effort will made to minimise any inconvenience caused by the works and we would like to thank nearby residents and motorists for their patience and cooperation.”
Customers with any queries about the project should contact East Gippsland Water on 1800 671 841.
