East Gippsland Water

Long Term Water Security

East Gippsland Water recently completed a significant five year, $67 million program of works – the largest in its history – to ensure the long term protection of all customers’ drinking water supplies against climate change and extreme weather events.

There have been notable water storage upgrades benefiting customers in the Bairnsdale (Wy Yung), Paynesville, Eagle Point, Mallacoota and Lakes Entrance areas. In addition, there is a major additional water storage and water treatment plant benefiting some 24,000 people along the Mitchell River system and an additional water storage at Omeo.
