A number of East Gippsland Water customers stand to benefit from the latest round of a program to clean and re-line sections of ageing sewer main. This ongoing initiative is designed to boost the long-term efficiency and reliability of the region’s sewer network.
Our contractor Interflow will be working along a section of Fort King Road in Paynesville and Lucknow Street in Bairnsdale.
They are due to commence on Monday 15 February and be finished by the end of the week.
The mains in both locations will be high-pressure cleaned to remove any debris, with some minor repairs carried out where necessary. In addition a new internal lining will be fed down maintenance holes and slid into position along the section of the sewer main in Bairnsdale’s Lucknow Street. The use of state-of-the-art technology will eliminate the need to dig up existing sewer pipes. Said East Gippsland Water’s Managing Director, Bruce Hammond: “We will be endeavouring to minimise any inconvenience caused by these works and we thank customers for their cooperation.” All affected households and businesses will receive a letter, phone call or door knock in advance of the work being carried out in their particular street. Customers who would like more information should contact Brant White at East Gippsland Water’s Bairnsdale office during business hours on 0419 549 612, or email egw@egwater.vic.gov.au
