East Gippsland Water will commence works later this month to install some 400 metres of drainage pipeline alongside a short section of Bullumwaal Road and Eastwood Road, near its water storage facility at Wy Yung.
The purpose of this project is to manage stormwater runoff from the Wy Yung facility and transfer this into the Clifton Creek water catchment, which will benefit the natural environment.
The work is expected to take approximately three months to complete, with traffic management measures required on Eastwood Road, close to the Bullumwaal Road intersection, for much of the period.
East Gippsland Water’s Executive Manager Capital & Service Delivery, Mark McNeil, said, “We would like to thank those directly impacted by the works for their patience and cooperation and will make every effort to minimise any inconvenience caused to nearby residents and motorists.
“While traffic measures are in place we would advise motorists likely to be affected to allow some extra time for their journey or consider using an alternative route.”
Running in parallel with this project, East Gippland Water is also carrying out an extension to the existing drainage system on land to the west of the Wy Yung water storage site.
Anyone with enquiries about the works should contact the water corporation on 1800 671 841 during business hours.
