National Water Week Poster Competition open for entries
East Gippsland Water is calling on all kinder, early learning, prep and primary school students
and teachers to enter this year’s National Water Week Poster competition.
This annual competition is a great way for students to learn and develop a deep understanding
of the importance of water and using it efficiently, in an enjoyable way.
Students are encouraged to get creative and design a poster on the theme ‘Water for all,
inspiring action’ exploring the importance of water and how everyone has a part to play in
saving water and being more water efficient now and into the future.
Last year, East Gippsland received 287 fantastic entries from 14 schools with three out of the
five regional winners also claiming wins in the State-wide competition.
East Gippsland Water Executive Manager Customers, Community and Communications, David
Radford said: “Each year that we host this competition, I am overwhelmed by the interest,
support and talent of our young people across East Gippsland.
“I am anticipating that we will receive some fantastic entries from the students this year. So, I’d
like to encourage them to get out their coloured pencils, textas, paints, paper or digital
technology ready and get creative producing their A3 poster.
“This is a fun, creative activity for the home or the classroom for schools and children from
across our region to get involved in.”
National Water Week runs from the 21 to 25 October 2024 and the winners of the competition
will be announced during that week.
There are a number of categories available and some great prizes up for grabs for individuals
and schools.
Closing date for entries is 5pm Friday, 30 August 2024. For further information and to enter
