And the National Water Week poster competition winners are…

East Gippsland Water

Congratulations to primary school students across our region who are our winners and runners-up in this year’s National Water Week poster competition!

This year’s theme, ‘Caring for water in your backyard”, featured heavily in the regional entries for the primary school poster competition. The quality of posters entered this year made it very difficult for the judges.

East Gippsland Water’s Executive Manager Customers, Mathew Scott, said, “National Water Week (18 – 22 October) reminds us that our water is precious, and we use it in many different ways.

“The poster competition gives students a great opportunity to learn and develop their understanding of the importance of water and using it efficiently, Mr Scott said”

The winners, who particularly impressed the judges with their vibrant and imaginative posters are: Isabelle Cowie (Prep – Bairnsdale Primary School 754), Felix Blandford (Grade 1/2 – Bairnsdale Primary School 754); Matilda Lane (Grade 3/4 – Tambo Upper Primary School), Kailee Helmers (Grade 5/6 – Bairnsdale Primary School 754) and Victor Greenwood (Special Needs – Marlo Primary School).

Congratulations also go to the runners up: Arlo Thompson-Britnell (Prep – Tambo Upper Primary School); Felonistesi Halafihi (Prep – Swifts Creek P-12); Remy Crawshaw (Grade 1/2 – Cann River P-12 College); Corra Kennedy (Grade 1/2 – Swifts Creek P-12); Erin Lee (Grade 3/4 – Omeo Primary School); Akaash Nair (Grade 3/4 – Bairnsdale Primary School 754); Amy Jewitt (Grade 5/6 – Bairnsdale Primary School 754) and Harriet Freeman (Grade 5/6 – Orbost Primary School).

We are currently in the process of presenting the competition winners, runners-up and their schools with their prizes.

Participants also receive a certificate for recognition of their work. The winning posters are on display on our website: www.egwater.vic.gov.au
