Our Price Submission 2028-2033 and Urban Water Strategy 2027 will help us plan and deliver projects that support the liveability of East Gippsland for the next 50 years.
Price Submission 2028-33
East Gippsland Water lodges a pricing submission every five years with the Essential Services Commission.
We are now working to prepare our next pricing submission, which will outline our services and prices for five-year period from 2028-33.
The pricing submission details our service commitments to our customers and community. This section outlines our customer priorities and the prices customers are comfortable paying for the services important to them.
Throughout 2026 and 2027 we will be inviting customers and community, including businesses, to help us understand what you value, what you need, and the level of service you’d like us to deliver.
We are currently in the second stage of our engagement process – exploring what our customers value.
We need to demonstrate to the Essential Services Commission the type of engagement we’ve undertaken, what our community told us, and how we’ve used that information to prepare our pricing submission.
In addition to delivering services today, we also need to plan the long-term infrastructure needs of our region. Our pricing submission needs to show that our prices and investments are practical in meeting our business’ requirements and are fair in terms of the impact on our customers and the community, including fairness for future generations.
Urban Water Strategy 2027
It is important that we balance the economic, environmental, cultural and social values of water. We are preparing our Urban Water Strategy 2027, our key planning tool to deliver water in a sustainable way now and into the future. The strategy will have a 50-year outlook and looks at water supplies and demand in each of our districts, looking at opportunities across the whole water cycle.
