Day Avenue water main upgrade
On-site work has commenced on an East Gippsland Water project to replace 400 metres of an ageing main supply pipeline along Day Avenue in Omeo.
The section of water main runs along the west side of Day Avenue from the Bilton Street intersection to the Old Omeo Highway intersection. Increasing the replacement main size will help ensure the reliability and efficiency of the water supply network, well into the future.
Traffic management measures have been implemented, such as reduced speed signs, for the safety of East Gippsland Water staff and contractors. Extra time should be allocated when travelling on Day Avenue until July, when the project is due to be completed.
Every effort will be made to minimise inconvenience to residents and travellers while the upgrade work is underway.
