Get creative and enter this year’s National Water Week Poster Competition

East Gippsland Water

20 July 2023

East Gippsland Water is calling on all kinder, early learning, prep and primary school kids and teachers to enter this year’s National Water Week Poster competition.

This annual competition is a great way for students to learn and develop a deep understanding of the importance of water and using it efficiently, in an enjoyable way.

Kids just need to get creative and design a poster on the theme ‘United by Water’ exploring the important roles water plays in connecting us all. There are a number of categories available and some great prizes up for grabs for individuals and schools.

East Gippsland Water Executive Manager Customers, Community and Communications, David Radford said: “It’s time to get creative and make a splash for National Water Week. Children need to let their creativity flow like a river as they bring the theme ‘United by Water’ to life by designing a colourful A3 poster.

“Coloured pencils, textas, paints, paper or digital technology can be used to create their artwork. This is a fun, creative activity for the home or the classroom and I encourage schools and children from across our region to get involved.”

National Water Week runs from the 16 to 22 October 2023 and the winners of the competition will be announced during that week.

Closing date for entries is 5pm Friday, 1 September 2023. For further information and to enter visit: https://www.nationalwaterweek.com.au/east-gippsland-water or call 1800 671 841.

First prize winners from each category will automatically be entered into the state level competition. William Hodge from Buchan Primary School won last years’ additional needs state category and Grace Strecker was state runner up in the Grade 5/6 category.
